Avenues of Service

Service Above Self is our motto and the four Avenues of Service represent areas of opportunities for our members to provide such service. In our local communities and throughout the world, Rotarians work to build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service, and encourage high ethical standards in all areas of our business.

Club Service

Vocational Service

International Service

Although the Amarillo West Rotary develops autonomous service programs, all Rotarians worldwide are united in a campaign for the global eradication of polio. In the 1980s, Rotarians raised $240 million to immunize the children of the world; by 2005, Rotary's centenary year and the target date for the certification of a polio-free world, the PolioPlus program will have contributed $500 million to this cause. In addition, Rotary International has provided an army of volunteers to promote and assist at international immunization days in polio-endemic countries around the world.
